Ex-pat Mommy breakfasts

Our neighbor Jessica hosted a breakfast in our building's backyard on Tuesday morning for a group of moms (and kids) that she is a part of, and invited the boys and I to come!  With the exception of t Jessica and maybe one other mom who are Chilean, they are all ex-pats from around the world who speak English and are living here in Chile.  They have 1 or 2 kids each, ages 1-5, so they are all fairly close in age and have fun playing together.  I met moms from Australia, New York, Toronto, Kenya, England, Barcelona, and I was told there is also a mom from Madrid who wasn't there this week.  And a small world connection... one of the mom's was one we happened to have met at a park nearby the first week we were here!

It was a fun morning getting to know some new people, speak English for a bit, and have a regular Tuesday morning get-together to look forward to.  It was also great that their kids are all so young because they, too, can only hang out so long before having to get home for nap time.  :)  Another perk:  This group is mostly little boys, whereas in our building it is majority little girls, so its nice for the kids to have some boys to play with for a change.  We are looking forward to getting together with them again next week!

This mesh toy basket was the favorite toy of all the kids there! That's Landon inside of the basket, having a blast running around.
