Day 2 in Chile

On Saturday we went to check out a park that is a short taxi ride from our apartment, Parque Araucano.  I think I was almost more excited than the kids at all the cool play areas and jungle gyms that we found, but they definitely had a good time playing!

Chasing, pointing at, and talking to the birds

Caleb didn't venture over to this area, but all the climbing structures  are very different than any parks I've been to!

There were probably 6 or 7 separate jungle gyms in this giant sand box, plus swings....

... the best of which were these mega swings!  Caleb loved them!

Some of you know that our original housing arrangement fell through shortly after we found out about it, but the apartment building where we ended up is amazing, and definitely a great part of God's much better planning than ours :)  We are on the 20th floor of the building, which gives us some fantastic views of the city and Andes mountains around us.

The building has what I am calling "our backyard", with a huge grass area, a big swimming pool, and even a little play area for the kids - all fenced in to keep them contained, and without having to take a stroller or walk anywhere.  So awesome.

Added bonus:  Caleb has a place to drive his tractors :)

Couldn't see this from the google maps view that we had before we arrived, so it was an awesome surprise that this is right downstairs!

Oh sand...!  The boys haven't had much opportunity to play in sand since our Lodi parks have bark or rubber.  As you can see Landon loved checking it out.

I love that they are both small enough to fit in this together :)

  3. That's like the mother of all parks. So fun for the boys.
